Cya Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud

Wow! I can't believe that four years of highschool is finally over. Classmates I've known my whole life are going all over the country. I will be sad knowing that I wont see them everyday anymore. Knowing that I can no longer say," see you at school tomorrow."  This years English IV class has been the best experience in English I've ever had. Everything we learned was interesting and enjoyable. The most interesting was learning how to read a whole book in 15 minutes. I know after a full year of Dr. Forman's English IV class I will be fully prepared for college work.

Food Blog: Part 3

For my food blog there is a possibility I will team up with a classmate. Teaming up with a classmate will allow me to try numerous different restaurants and blog more efficiently. By eliminating the issue of time, the quality of the blog will increase. Eventually I hope to be able to turn this blog into a company that possibly provides discount cards to members. Members will receive deals at local restaurants around campus that in a college environment will save money.

Food Blog Ideas: Part 2

On my food blog I would include lists of the entire menu selection of the restaurant. I would also include links on my blog to google maps with directions and the phone number of the restaurant. Not only will I review restaurants that are open in LA, but I would also keep a list of restaurants that will be opening up soon.

Research for College 3: Academic Integrity

Academic Integrity at USC

The university as an instrument of learning is predicated on the existence of an environment of integrity. As members of the academic community, faculty, students and administrative staff share the responsibility for maintaining this environment. Faculty have the primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining an atmosphere and attitude of academic integrity such that the enterprise may flourish in an open and honest way. Students share this responsibility for maintaining standards of academic performance and classroom behavior conducive to the learning process. Administrative staff are responsible for the establishment and maintenance of procedures to support and enforce those academic standards. Thus, the entire university community bears the responsibility for maintaining an environment of integrity and for confronting incidents of academic dishonesty.

Policy on Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

The University of Southern California is committed to full compliance with the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As part of the implementation of this law, the university will continue to provide reasonable accommodation for academically qualified students with disabilities so that they can participate fully in the university’s educational programs and activities. Although USC is not required by law to change the “fundamental nature or essential curricular components of its programs in order to accommodate the needs of disabled students,” the university will provide reasonable academic accommodation. It is the specific responsibility of the university administration and all faculty serving in a teaching capacity to ensure the university’s compliance with this policy.
The general definition of a student with a disability is any person who has “a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of such person’s major life activities,” and any person who has “a history of, or is regarded as having, such an impairment.” Reasonable academic and physical accommodations include but are not limited to: extended time on examinations; advance notice regarding booklists for visually impaired and some learning disabled students; use of academic aides in the classroom such as note-takers and sign language interpreters; accessibility for students who use wheelchairs and those with mobility impairments; and need for special classroom furniture or special equipment in the classroom.

Research for College

At the University of Southern California I plan to double major at Marshall and Price with an emphasis on real-estate development. I might also minor in accounting at Leventhal. I will have to complete between 128-134 credits throughout my four years at the University of Southern California. I will have to complete 24 general education credits along with 8 required writing credits. Every student at the University of Southern California must complete theses credits to graduate. In Price I am required to finish a total of 30 core credits. The Class range from Public Policy and Management (PPD 225) to Public Policy and Planning Analysis (PPD 373). During my senior year at Price I am required to fulfill 140 none paid internship hours at one specific firm.

Safe Sex Vs. Sex Without Love

In Donald Hall's poem, "Safe Sex," Hall never explicitly encourages the reader to have sex. However, through metaphoric expressions, Hall is able to state a belief that “emotionless sex” is acceptable and necessary. Throughout “Safe sex” the author is indirectly persuading the mind of the reader. He starts by indirectly stating how people should have “emotionless sex.” Later in his poem he counteracts his pervious statement by indirectly hinting to how embarrassing sex without love is by stating how it is a “permanent humiliation.” Although Hall’s is not directly speaking out against “one night stands,” towards the end of his poem he is indirectly speaking out against them. When paralleled to Sharon Olds' "Sex without Love,” one can see the direct emphasis on “emotionless sex”.  She clearly states that each party knows that “they know they are alone.” Thus, there is no emotional tie and having sex will hurt neither the man nor the woman. Olds’ clearly believes throughout her poem that “emotionless sex” is “safer” and better because no body gets hurt.

Food Blog Ideas

One blog I would love to create is a food blog. I would review places from fast food to top well know restaurants in the Los Angeles Area. I would do weekly postings every sunday. Furthermore, I would include pictures and videos of the places I went to. If I ever went on vacation I would keep a section on my blog that gave my reviews of restaurants I went to. Lastly I would keep a lottery on my blog that gave loyal viewers a chance to get a free meal at some of the top restaurants.
