Anthem For Doomed Youth
When analyzing the poem and the picture one can find numerous similarities. The picture is of two men in a cemetery. Ironically, the two men will most likely be found dead and buried in the cemetery. Furthermore, the poem describes how the dead will be celebrated. It states that church bells will ring over the battle field; however, the sound would come from the explosion of bombs. In essence both the poem and the picture convey the same gruesome truths about war but in different methods.

The Stranger
“Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don’t know.”
Since these opening words are spoken by Meursault, the protagonist, insight into his mindset and attitude are evident. More over, they reveal Meursault’s emotional indifference. This is evident because Meursault does not express any remorse for his mother. In fact he narrates his emotions as mere matter of fact. Furthermore, instead of worrying about his mother’s death, he is more concerned with what his boss will think of taking time off.

Genesis 1
Genesis 1 is a religious passage that describes the creation of Earth and life. The writings describe the events of the first few days on Earth. It describes how God created man, animals and all of the elements that they would survive on. Social Darwinists believe that God created the most basic life forms on Earth and their growth and transformation was only by the occurrence of natural selection and not by Gods will. On the other hand, religious scholars believe that the creation and evolution of animals is strictly under Gods control.

Charles Darwin: Origin of Species
With animals having separated sexes there will most cases be a struggle between the males for possession of the females.
Throughout Charles Darwin’s, Origin of Species, numerous techniques are employed to convey a serious and evolutionary. Darwin’s belief in “natural selection” was a controversial topic that has created havoc in both the scientific community and various religious cults. His usage of clever rhetoric allows for minimal amounts of controversy between groups with different ideologies. Furthermore, he was able to diverge into the seriousness of his scientific philosophy. The idea behind “natural selection’ is that the strongest animals are able to procreate and have their DNA transferred to future generations. However, the only way to create offspring is to find a mate. Thus, with animals of different sexes, there will always be a struggle for males to find females. In essence, the weaker males are not able to find mates and they die off along with their weak traits.

First Body Paragraph Rough raft
Although American values place a high importance on the individual, conformity is still evident in everyday life. By conforming, people lose their individuality. Thus, the ideas and aspirations of the individuals are blended together with that of the collective. People like to think that they are unique, but in reality, most people are only comfortable being followers. For that reason, people are naturally conformers. They find it acceptable to remain as conformers rather than step outside of society’s image. For instance, in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, we find conformity at its greatest. People are trained from childhood to get married to men who meet society’s strict standards. They choose to marry for wealth and social status, rather than love and happiness. For instance, Charlotte Lucas is a prime example of one who scarifies her individuality to conform to society’s expectations. Conformity is a product of time, and thus each generation will experience conformity differently and at different extremes of the spectrum.
